Brief
The Academy of Fine Arts of Catania organized an event between graphics and music for April 25, 2025. The graphic design exhibition gathered posters designed by students from the two-year specialist program in Design for Publishing, PhD students from the PhD program in Visual Communication Design and Public Utility and professors of Graphic Design and Communication Design.
Eighty years after the Liberation of Italy from Nazi-Fascism, it is crucial not only to remember the past, but also to reflect on how the ideals of anti-fascism and resistance continue to be relevant in the contemporary world. The democratic challenges of our time, from social inequality to rising populism, require a strong and ongoing commitment from civil society. The memory of the partisan struggle should inspire us to defend the values of freedom, solidarity and justice, protecting the rights of all and helping to build a future that does not repeat the mistakes of the past.
Concept
From the sign engraved by the Partisan Resistance, we defend freedom as an indispensable asset of our existence. Exist for those who resisted, resist for those who will exist.
